I speak English!
Learning another language for a student in a rural area, especially English, is key for finding economic opportunities. Also, for tourism, English is fundamental. It is important to create an environment that stimulates the learning of English. This is also an ideal activity for Volunteer Travel. Volunteers can help students with their English classes, but most importantly interact with the local students in English.
● English Classes: Rural schools usually receive an English class, but the regular local teacher does not speak English. A specialized English teacher is needed in order to offer classes to the students as part of their regular classes. Volunteers can reinforce the classes by having different types of activities with the students in English.
● English Environment: This activity involves creating an English Environment within the school by decorating it with English messages and labels. Students must be surrounded by English from an early age.
